Dear Jean Monnet Community Member,

A few months ago, we informed you about the Student Essay Competition on EU Global Strategy for Foreign and Security Policy "Why is the European Union's foreign and security policy important for your daily life?"

We would like to thank you again for having brought this competition under the attention of your students.

The winners of the Essay Competition have now been announced on the EU Global Strategy website. You can find the announcement here and the winning essays along with a selection of excerpts from the essays that were handed in here.

Happy reading!

The EU Commission's Jean Monnet Team

"Dear all,

In the framework of the Jean Monnet annual conference "A Union of shared values – the role of education and civil society", held in Brussels on 9 and 10 November 2015, we launched a Call for Papers, asking Jean Monnet community members to express their view on fundamental values. We received many high quality papers, and invited some of the contributors to present their paper in the conference working groups. We are happy to publish these contributions here as of today (a few more will follow). The topic is more relevant than ever, and we would like to thank these contributors for their thought-provoking and inspiring words, which we hope will inspire further debate and discussion.

The Jean Monnet Team"

The Jean Monnet Community was designed for beneficiaries of the Jean Monnet activities, enabling professors and researchers from all around the world specialised in European integration studies to share information and announcements on their activities: events, seminars, calls for papers, post vacancies, study programmes and courses, publications.
